EXTRA ACTIVITIES AUDITING DEPARTMENT

With the desire to help lecturers exchange expertise and update practical knowledge, and at the same time give students the opportunity to perfect a solid knowledge base, improve creativity, confidence as well as confidence. problem-solving skills in auditing, on the morning of March 10, 2021, at the 36 Ton That Dam campus, District 1, the Department of Auditing, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City held a extracurricular session with topic “COVID, TECHNOLOGY AND IMPACT ON AUDIT”. The extra-curricular event is pleased to welcome the speaker Dr. Tran Khanh Lam, vice president and general secretary of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA). On the side of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, there were Dr. Dang Dinh Tan - Dean of Faculty of Economics and Technology, Dr. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong - Head of the audit department, along with the teachers of the Faculty of Accounting - Auditing and more than 30 high-quality students of the Accounting - Auditing major of the school attended.

After the MC introduced some features of the speaker, Dr. Tran Khanh Lam started the discussion with a presentation about the impacts of Covid-19 on accounting and auditing work. Accordingly, Covid as a catalyst for the "reaction" of technology application is stronger than ever in human life in general and in financial, accounting and auditing activities in particular. From there, also change the accounting and finance function, which if the accounting and auditing experts do not change, do not learn for life, they will not be able to adapt. Therefore, Dr. Tran Khanh Lam also suggested that training institutions should consider the educational philosophy of lifelong learning to meet future skill requirements.

The extracurricular session became lively when the lecturers and students had a dialogue with the speaker on issues related to auditing, and at the same time, they also received advice and shared experiences to prepare for the future.
