On the morning of March 8, 2025, the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing at the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with legal experts, successfully organized the extracurricular program titled “Understanding Accounting and Auditing Laws – A Professional Toolkit.” This training session aimed to equip students with essential skills to read, comprehend, and apply legal normative documents accurately and effectively in both their professional work and daily life.
The program had the honor of welcoming esteemed legal professionals, most notably Mr. Nguyễn Huỳnh Nhân – ACCA, CIA, currently serving as Chief Financial Officer – Tax Consultant at MK Accounting and Tax Agency. Mr. Nhân is not only an expert in finance and taxation but also a renowned speaker recognized for sharing legal knowledge related to finance, tax, and accounting.
The event was also attended by:
- Dr. Nguyễn Thị Mai Hương – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing,
- Dr. Trần Thị Thu Thủy – Head of the Auditing Department,
- MSc. Đỗ Thị Hương – Secretary of the Faculty’s Youth Union,
- Dr. Nguyễn Thị Đoan Trang – Lecturer at the Faculty, along with many students, especially those actively involved in the Union, Associations, and Faculty Clubs.
Throughout the session, students were equipped with vital skills to understand and apply legal documents systematically and effectively. The program began with an overview of Vietnam’s current legal framework, covering types of normative legal documents, their levels (laws, decrees, circulars, decisions, etc.), and the hierarchical relationships among them. This provided students with a clearer understanding of how the legal system is structured and operates.
The speaker introduced methods for interpreting legal documents, analyzing their structure, identifying key content, and grasping the essence of each clause. These skills enable students not only to read but also to understand and apply legal regulations accurately in real-life work scenarios.
Mr. Nguyễn Huỳnh Nhân also shared valuable insights from his professional experience, emphasizing that a strong grasp of legal regulations helps accounting, auditing, and tax professionals avoid risks in their work and enhances their professional competency. He noted that international legal certifications such as ACCA are not only tools for improving specialized knowledge but also serve as crucial stepping stones for students seeking to advance in their international careers.
The session concluded successfully with the enthusiastic participation of nearly 200 students from the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing. The Organizing Committee extends its sincere appreciation to the guest speaker, faculty members, and especially the students whose active involvement contributed to the program’s success. The event not only helped enhance professional knowledge but also laid a solid foundation for the practical application of legal concepts in future careers.
It is hoped that through this program, students will become more proactive and confident in approaching and applying legal regulations in the fields of accounting and auditing. We wish all students continued success and steady progress on their paths of personal and professional development.
