To create opportunities to share experiences and discuss teaching modules in the training program through case-study models, on the morning of September 26, 2024, the Faculty of Accounting - Auditing, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City successfully organized a seminar on " Application of accounting simulation model in accounting training " at No. 56 Hoang Dieu 2 Street, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar attracted the attention and participation of experts and lecturers.
Overview of the seminar
The seminar was attended by representatives of enterprises such as Mr. Nguyen Duc Thai (Managing Director at SAPP Academy), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai (ACCA Product Director at SAPP Academy) and Ms. Dao Phuong Thuy (Director of External Relations at Forvis Mazars Joint Stock Company).
Representatives from the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, including Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thang (Deputy Dean), Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong (Deputy Dean), Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Nga (Head of Management Accounting Department), Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung (Head of Financial Accounting Department) and lecturers of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing also participated in the seminar.
Representatives of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing presented gifts and flowers to the speaker and representatives of SAPP Academy and Forvis Mazars.
After the opening speech of Dr. Nguyen Quoc Thang and the introduction of some information about Forvis Mazars and SAPP Academy, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thai – Managing Director at SAPP Academy presented the simulation of accounting operations through specific situations. He emphasized the requirements in simulation training that require higher thinking ability for students. He also shared his in-depth training experience in designing simulation situations. Accordingly, the development of the problem is designed according to the gradual increase in students' thinking ability from reading comprehension to analysis, evaluation, and finally deducing how to solve that situation. Learning by simulation will bring the most effective results for students.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thang also presented the practical requirements for human resources in the Accounting industry, thereby showing that training through situational simulation is necessary. In the training process, it is necessary to combine practice with theory, increasing practicality to help students meet the needs of businesses when graduating. Through simulation practice, it helps to increase students' practical and problem-solving skills.
In addition, the seminar also had the participation of other speakers such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong, who raised some difficulties in implementing the situational simulation method in the training process, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Nga, who presented the benefits of the simulation method in accounting training, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, who presented the current situation of accounting simulation in accounting training at HUB, and Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy, who analyzed the current situation of simulation in auditing training at HUB.
After the presentations by speakers from SAAP Academy representatives and leaders in the Accounting and Auditing department, the seminar moved into a lively discussion on how to implement teaching accounting and auditing courses through real-life simulations. The opinions shared and contributions from experts and lecturers created a vibrant and useful atmosphere for exchange.
