The impact of the Digital Revolution has been redefining the function of information technology audit (IT Audit), forcing auditors to rethink of long-established practices, fundamental processes, and their functionality for the digital age. Therefore, updating the knowledge of IT Audit is essential for auditing lecturers to meet the requirements and objectives of the Accounting and Auditing training program in the direction of digital transformation, which was published by the Accounting – Auditing Faculty of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking, certified for quality according to AUN.QA standards.
On September 24th, 2022, at EY Vietnam HCMC Office, the Accounting – Auditing Faculty of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking and EY Vietnam conducted a professional training session for lecturers and students on the topic of information technology audit.
After the introduction, the speakers provided useful information regarding the benefits and risks of using technology in the business landscape, basic principles and regulations, techniques, and cutting-edge tools in IT Auditing. The training session helped the lecturers update their professional knowledge. Besides, the seminar provides the students with the opportunity to practice their soft skills in a real-world environment, improve their creativity, confidence, as well as problem-solving skills in auditing and opens up new career prospects for them.
The seminar ended, but it will start a new cooperation between the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing and EY Vietnam, as well as orienting the students to improve their knowledge and skills to be able to meet the requirements of IT auditing, a new career prospect in today's digital age.
