On April 5th, 2024, the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing had a working session with MAZARS Vietnam and SAPP Academy regarding the collaboration to provide training sessions for students and lecturers using a modern education approach called Case-Based Learning. This method helps learners actively absorb knowledge, understand the essence, enhance practical skills, and effectively apply them in real-life situations. This is a significant activity in strengthening the cooperative relationship in education between the Ho Chi Minh University of Banking and its corporate partners.
Representing MAZARS, Ms. Dao Phuong Thuy – Senior Manager of the Communication and External Relations Department, explained the purpose of the collaboration with SAPP Academy to provide these training programs to universities nationwide is to enhance the corporate social responsibility of auditing firms and to improve the quality of highly specialized human resources for the accounting and auditing fields in the Vietnamese market and towards international standards. Mr. Nguyen Duc Thai – Training Director representing SAPP Academy, also introduced various training programs using the Case-Based Learning method that the center is offering to different target groups. This project will be implemented continuously for three years for representatives of selected universities nationwide. In the southern region, the Ho Chi Minh University of Banking is one of the two universities that MAZARS & SAPP Academy aim to target.
Representing the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing, Vice Dean, Dr. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong expressed gratitude for the educational collaboration that MAZARS and SAPP Academy intend to bring to the students and lecturers of the Ho Chi Minh University of Banking. She also engaged in detailed discussions regarding the content, timing, location, and coordination requirements between the two parties to ensure that the training sessions achieve high effectiveness in the long-term collaborative training project for accounting and auditing human resources in Vietnam.
The working session concluded successfully with fruitful agreements for the first two training courses. For instance, targeting students enrolled in the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing, SAPP designed a scenario titled "VinGroup – Essence of Financial Strategy/Case study on financial statement analysis"; for lecturers currently teaching at the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing, SAPP offered a training session titled "Application of Case-Based Learning to Enhance Training Effectiveness" aimed at helping educators gain a deeper understanding of the method and apply it flexibly in their teaching practices.
